Welcome to TeXPage. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Yantai Xiaomu Network Technology Co., Ltd. ("TeXPage", "we", "us" or "our"), the operator of the TeXPage website at https://www.texpage.com, its subdomains, and the online LaTeX editing, compilation, collaboration and related services provided through them (collectively, the "Service").
Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. Provisions that limit or exclude our liability, restrict your rights, or concern dispute resolution and governing law are shown in bold; please pay particular attention to them. By registering an account, checking the box to accept these Terms, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, please read these Terms together with your parent or guardian and use the Service with their consent. If you are under 14, or under the minimum age at which you can consent to the processing of your personal data where you live (for example, 16 in some countries of the European Economic Area), please do not register an account unless your parent or guardian has agreed to our Privacy Policy on your behalf.
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your password, two-factor authentication devices, recovery codes and personal access tokens secure, and for activity that takes place under your Account. If you believe your Account has been used without authorization, change your password, sign out of other sessions in your account settings and contact us promptly.
If you use the Service through an Organization, that Organization may manage your Account (for example, by controlling sign-in methods, IP access restrictions, membership and plan allocation). Your use may also be governed by the Organization's own rules.
The Service lets you create, edit, compile and preview LaTeX projects online, collaborate with others in real time, keep file history, and use optional features such as Git and GitHub/GitLab synchronization, cloud drive synchronization, reference manager import, mathematical formula recognition and AI-assisted writing. Features available to you depend on your plan; the current plan contents are described on our pricing page.
We continually improve the Service and may add, change or remove features. If a change significantly reduces a core feature of a Paid Plan you have already purchased, we will notify you in advance where reasonably possible, and you may request a refund for the unused portion of that plan.
We will make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, but the Service may be temporarily interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, network or hardware failures, failures of third-party services, or events beyond our reasonable control. We will announce planned maintenance in advance where reasonably possible, and service status is published at https://status.texpage.com.
You agree to use the Service in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and these Terms. You must not use the Service to create, upload, store, compile, share or distribute content that:
You also agree not to:
If we discover or receive a credible report that you have violated this section, we may, in proportion to the severity of the violation and in accordance with law, take measures such as issuing a warning, removing or disabling access to the relevant content, restricting features, or suspending or terminating your Account, and we may keep relevant records and report to the competent authorities as required by law. Except where the law requires otherwise or where notice would impede an investigation or cause further harm, we will notify you of the measures taken and the reasons, and you may contact us to appeal.
You retain all intellectual property rights you hold in your User Content. We do not claim ownership of your User Content.
You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license, for the duration of your use of the Service, to host, store, copy, transmit, process, compile, render and display your User Content solely to the extent necessary to operate, secure and provide the Service to you and to the people you choose to share it with, including sending it to third-party services you choose to connect or use (see the Privacy Policy). This license ends when your User Content is deleted from the Service, subject to backups and legal retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy.
We do not use your project content to train AI models.
You are responsible for your User Content and for ensuring that you have the rights needed to upload and use it. If you share a project with others, they can view, comment on, edit or copy its content according to the permission you grant. Please review who has access to your projects and share links regularly.
If you submit a project as a public template, you grant us and other users a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, copy, modify and use that template through the Service. Template submissions are reviewed before publication, and we may decline or remove any template.
Please keep your own copies of important content. You can download your projects at any time.
Some features use large language models or other AI technologies, including the AI assistant, paraphrasing, grammar checking, LaTeX code assistance and compile log analysis. When you use these features, the content needed to fulfill your request (such as the text you select, your messages and attachments, and project files or compile logs that the feature reads) is sent to the AI service providers listed in the Privacy Policy for processing.
AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or similar to content generated for others, and does not constitute professional advice. You should review and verify any AI output before you rely on it or include it in your work, and you are responsible for how you use it, including complying with the academic integrity, citation and disclosure rules of your institution, journal or conference. The AI assistant may modify, create or delete files in your project when you ask it to; you can review its changes and undo them using the features provided.
AI features are subject to usage quotas that depend on your plan. To report illegal or harmful AI output, contact support@texpage.com.
The Service can connect to third-party services that you choose to use, such as Google sign-in, GitHub, GitLab, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Baidu Netdisk, WebDAV services and Zotero. When you connect one, you authorize us to exchange data with it on your behalf as needed for the feature. Your use of a third-party service is also governed by that service's own terms and privacy policy. You can disconnect them at any time in the Service or in the third-party service's settings.
We are not responsible for the content, availability or practices of third-party services we do not control, or for websites linked from the Service, except where we are at fault.
Some features are available only with a Paid Plan. Plan contents, prices and quotas are shown on the pricing page and the checkout page at the time of purchase.
Refunds: You can request a refund by emailing support@texpage.com with the email address of your TeXPage account and the reason for your request. We will verify the information and process your request as soon as possible. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method; when a refund is made, the plan's validity period is reduced accordingly. If you upgrade to a higher plan while your current plan is still valid, you can request a refund for the remaining plan in the same way. Nothing in this section limits any refund or other rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws.
The Service, including its software, interface design, trademarks, logos and documentation, but excluding User Content and third-party open-source components, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. Open-source components (including the TeX distribution used for compilation) are subject to their own licenses.
If you send us suggestions or feedback about the Service, you agree that we may use them to improve the Service without any obligation to you. This does not transfer ownership of your User Content.
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other lawful rights, please email support@texpage.com with: (a) your name and contact information; (b) the content you believe is infringing and information sufficient for us to locate it; (c) preliminary evidence of your rights and of the infringement; and (d) a statement that the information in your notice is true and accurate. After receiving a valid notice, we will take necessary measures in accordance with law and forward the notice to the relevant user, who may submit a counter-notice with preliminary evidence of non-infringement.
You may stop using the Service at any time, and you can delete your Account in your account settings. Account deletion is irreversible: your projects and other data will be deleted as described in the Privacy Policy and cannot be recovered, so please download any content you want to keep beforehand. Deleting your Account does not automatically refund a Paid Plan; you can request a refund as described in Section 9.
We may suspend or terminate your Account, or restrict your use of the Service, if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law or by a competent authority, or if necessary to prevent serious harm to the Service, other users or third parties. Except where the law requires otherwise or where the content is illegal, we will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to download your User Content. If we terminate the Service or your Account for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion of any Paid Plan you have paid for.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 10, 13, 14 and 16) will survive.
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Typesetting and compilation results depend on your source files and on third-party packages and tools, and we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every document will compile successfully, or that the Service will meet a particular purpose of yours. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranties or rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including loss of profits, business opportunities or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service; and our total liability to you for any claims relating to the Service is limited to the total amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the liability.
These limitations do not apply to liability for personal injury, to property damage caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or to any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
You agree to compensate us for losses we suffer, including reasonable legal fees, as a result of third-party claims arising from your User Content or from your violation of these Terms or applicable law, to the extent the loss is attributable to you.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, our business or the law. We will publish the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Updated Terms take effect when published, except that material changes take effect no earlier than 7 days after we notify you of them through the Service or by email, and the notice will state when they take effect. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may stop using the Service and delete your Account before they take effect; if you continue to use the Service after they take effect, the updated Terms will apply to you.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (for the purposes of these Terms, excluding the laws of the Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan region), without regard to conflict of laws rules. If a dispute arises, please contact us first at support@texpage.com, and we will try to resolve it through friendly negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, either party may bring a lawsuit before the people's court with jurisdiction at the place where the Company is domiciled (Yantai, Shandong Province). This does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the laws of your place of habitual residence that apply to you.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy and any additional terms shown to you when you purchase or use specific features, form the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If you use the Service through an Organization and the Organization's agreement with us conflicts with these Terms, that agreement prevails to the extent of the conflict. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition or reorganization, provided that your rights are not reduced. These Terms are published in Chinese and English. The Chinese version applies to users in mainland China, and this English version applies to all other users.
If you have any questions, complaints or suggestions about these Terms, please contact us at support@texpage.com. We will reply within 15 working days.

Yantai Xiaomu Network Technology Co., Ltd. ("TeXPage", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use TeXPage (the "Service"), why we collect it, how we use, store, share and protect it, and how you can exercise your rights. It applies to the website at https://www.texpage.com and its subdomains. Please read it carefully, especially the parts in bold.
If an Organization (such as your school or employer) provides the Service to you, the Organization may also process your information under its own policies, for example when it manages your account or configures single sign-on. Please contact the Organization for questions about its processing.
We only collect information needed for the purposes below. If you do not provide information that is required for a feature, you may not be able to use that feature, but this will not affect your use of other features.
| Purpose | Information |
|---|---|
| Registration and sign-in | Email address, password (stored as a hash), email verification codes, username, the email addresses you add to your account; if you sign in with Google, your Google account identifier and email; if you sign in through your Organization's single sign-on or LDAP, the identifier and email provided by the Organization; if you enable two-factor authentication, the authenticator secret and recovery codes. |
| Account security and session management | IP address, browser and operating system type and version (from the User-Agent), a randomly generated device identifier, sign-in time and session records. You can view and sign out of your sessions in account settings. We also use IP addresses for rate limiting and to enforce IP access restrictions set by your Organization. |
| Providing the editor, compilation and collaboration | User Content (project files, compiled outputs, file history, comments, review records and chat messages), project and editor settings, personal dictionary, snippets, tags, saved formulas, and the collaborators and share links you set up. Collaborators can see your username and the content you contribute to shared projects. Other signed-in users who enter your exact email address when inviting collaborators can see your username. |
| AI features | The text you select, images you upload for formula recognition, the messages and attachments you send, and the project files, compile logs and PDF text that the feature reads to complete your request; AI assistant conversation history; and usage records (time and count) used to calculate quotas. See Section 4 for the providers that process this content. |
| Third-party integrations you connect | Authorization tokens for GitHub, GitLab, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Baidu Netdisk or Zotero; WebDAV server address, username and password (stored encrypted); and the files exchanged with these services. |
| Purchases, invoices and customer service | Order number, plan, amount, currency, payment method, payment status, transaction numbers returned by the payment provider, refund records, coupons, team membership, invoice information you provide, and the content of your communications with us. |
| Security auditing | The type and time of key actions, such as signing in, changing your password, managing collaborators, deleting projects and using AI features, together with your account identifier, IP address and User-Agent, and identifiers of the project, collaborator or email address involved. Audit logs do not contain project content, AI conversations or passwords. We use them to keep accounts and the Service secure, to investigate security incidents, and to provide records relating to your Organization when it requests them under its agreement with us. |
| Service operation and improvement | Usage events such as opening a project, creating a project from a template and joining an Organization; compile duration and error information; server logs; and usage statistics collected by Google Analytics (see the Cookie Policy for how to opt out). We use them to keep the Service running, troubleshoot problems, and understand which features to improve. |
| Pricing and regional display | We use your IP address to determine whether you are in mainland China, in order to show the appropriate currency and payment method. We do not store the result. |
| Service emails | Your email address, used to send verification codes, password resets, collaboration and team invitations, and plan expiry reminders. We do not currently send marketing emails. If we plan to do so in the future, we will ask for your consent first and provide a way to unsubscribe. |
Sensitive personal information: Under the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, which governs our processing, account passwords, two-factor authentication secrets and payment transaction information may constitute sensitive personal information. We process it only for account security and to complete your purchases, and we protect it with strict measures. We do not collect your biometric information, precise location, ID card number or bank card number.
Legal bases: We process your information because it is necessary to conclude and perform our contract with you (providing the Service you requested), to comply with legal obligations, with your consent (for example, when you connect third-party services), or, where the applicable law recognizes it, for our legitimate interests in keeping the Service secure and improving it. You may withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.
We do not use automated decision-making that significantly affects your rights. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and unsent edits, and for analytics. See our Cookie Policy for details.
We share personal information with third parties only as described below, to the minimum extent necessary for the stated purpose, and we require entrusted service providers by contract to protect it and use it only on our instructions.
| Recipient | Purpose | Information shared |
|---|---|---|
| Alibaba Cloud (Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd.) | Cloud storage of project files and history; sending service emails | User Content; email address and email content |
| Alipay (Alipay (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd.) | Processing payments and refunds in Chinese yuan | Order number, product description, amount |
| Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited and its affiliates) | Reseller and merchant of record for payments and refunds in US dollars | Email address, order information; payment details you enter at Paddle's checkout are collected directly by Paddle |
| AI model service providers | AI features (such as the AI assistant, paraphrasing, grammar checking, LaTeX code assistance and formula recognition), and web searches performed by the AI assistant | Content needed for your AI request, as described in Section 2; search queries generated for your request (no account information) |

| Google (sign-in) | Signing in with your Google account, at your choice | We receive your Google account identifier and email from Google |
| GitHub, GitLab, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Baidu Netdisk, WebDAV services, Zotero | Synchronization and import features you connect | Your authorization token and the project files or bibliography data being synchronized |
AI features run only when you use them, and we instruct the AI providers not to store your requests for their own purposes wherever the provider offers that option. Some providers may temporarily retain data for abuse monitoring under their own policies.
Other users and your Organization: Content you put in shared projects is visible to the collaborators you invite and to anyone who opens a share link you enable. If you are a member of a team or Organization, its administrators can see your username, email address and membership status, and an Organization can see aggregated usage information of its members.
Legal requirements: We may disclose personal information where required by laws and regulations, legal proceedings, or mandatory requests from competent government authorities.
Business transfers: If personal information needs to be transferred because of a merger, division, dissolution or bankruptcy, we will inform you of the recipient's name and contact information, and require the recipient to continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If the recipient changes the original purposes or methods of processing, it must obtain your consent again.
Except in the cases above or where otherwise permitted by law, we will not provide your personal information to other parties without your separate consent.
Personal information collected by TeXPage is stored in mainland China. If you use the Service from outside mainland China, your information is transferred to and processed in mainland China.
Some of the third parties listed in Section 4 (including Google, Paddle and the overseas services you choose to connect, such as GitHub and Dropbox) may process information outside mainland China. Such transfers occur only to provide the feature you are using, are limited to the content needed for that feature, and take place in accordance with applicable cross-border data transfer requirements. Where the law requires it, we will obtain your separate consent before the transfer. If you do not want your content transferred, please do not use the relevant features.
When you delete your Account, your personal information and User Content are deleted immediately and cannot be recovered, except for order and transaction records that we are required to retain by law. To keep the Service secure and investigate possible security incidents, existing security audit logs are not deleted with your Account; they are deleted when their retention period ends and are used only for those purposes in the meantime.
Data you delete, including data deleted when you empty the trash, delete a project version or delete your Account, is removed from our production systems immediately; related data such as file history, AI assistant conversations and chat messages is then deleted by a background task, usually within 1 hour. To protect against data loss from failures or accidents, we keep system backups, and deleted data is permanently removed when those backups expire, within 7 days at most. Backups are used only for disaster recovery, access to them is strictly limited, and they are not processed in any other way during that time.
We use the following technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information and User Content:
Encryption in transit: Communication between you and the Service, including web pages, real-time collaboration and file uploads and downloads, is encrypted with HTTPS. Data transferred between our internal systems is also encrypted end to end.
Storage protection: Project files and their history are stored in Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS) with server-side encryption enabled. Files in object storage are named with randomly generated identifiers that do not include your email address, username or other account information; the mapping between files and accounts is kept separately in our database, with strictly limited access. Passwords are stored as hashes, so we cannot see your password; WebDAV passwords are stored encrypted.
Backup and recovery: Project files are stored redundantly in multiple copies and backed up regularly, to protect against data loss from hardware failures or other incidents. You can also restore content you changed or deleted by mistake using file history and the trash. Deleted data is removed from backups as described in Section 6.
Access control: We limit staff access to systems and data to what is necessary for their work. Staff do not view your User Content except to provide technical support at your request, to handle security issues, or where required by law. We keep security audit logs of key actions to detect and investigate unusual access.
Account security: We offer two-factor authentication for your Account, and you can view and sign out of your sessions on each device in account settings. We rate-limit sign-in attempts and API requests. Organizations can also set up single sign-on and IP access restrictions for their members.
Security incidents: If a personal information security incident occurs, we will take remedial measures promptly and, as required by law, inform you of the incident, its possible impact, the measures we have taken and recommendations for protecting yourself, by email, in-site notice or announcement, and report it to the competent authorities.
No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure. Please keep your password safe and turn on two-factor authentication.
Under applicable law, you have the right to:
You can exercise most of these rights directly in the Service. For other requests, email support@texpage.com from the email address registered to your Account. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within 15 working days. We do not charge for reasonable requests. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
If a close relative of a deceased user wishes to exercise the rights above for their own lawful and legitimate interests, please contact us.
The Service is intended mainly for students, researchers and professionals. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, please read this Privacy Policy with your parent or guardian and use the Service with their consent. Children under 14, or under the minimum age at which they can consent to the processing of their personal data where they live, should not register without the consent of a parent or guardian. As required by Chinese law, we treat personal information of children under 14 as sensitive personal information. If we learn that we have collected a child's personal information without verified consent from a parent or guardian, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians can contact us at support@texpage.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will publish the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date; the updated version takes effect when published. For material changes (such as changes to the purposes of processing, the types of information processed, or the recipients of shared information), we will notify you through the Service or by email before the changes take effect, state in the notice when they take effect, and obtain your consent again where required by law.
If you have any questions, complaints or requests about this Privacy Policy or our processing of your personal information, please contact us at support@texpage.com. We will reply within 15 working days. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the competent regulatory authority or bring a lawsuit before a court with jurisdiction.
